The Vishva Hindu Parishad has launched a public appeal to support relief operations for people affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.
The organisation said contributions to its Nepal Flood Relief Campaign would be used to arrange food, clothing, medicines and shelter for displaced families.
The appeal came as rescue agencies continued searching for hundreds of missing people, including Indian nationals, following flash floods that damaged towns, bridges and hydropower facilities along the Nepal-Tibet border.
Civil-society mobilisation can supplement official relief, particularly for immediate household needs. Its effectiveness will depend on verified beneficiary assessment, coordination with Nepalese authorities and established humanitarian agencies, transparent accounting and avoidance of duplicated distribution in accessible areas while remote communities remain underserved.
