Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has said Chhattisgarh has overcome the long-standing challenge of Left-Wing Extremism and is entering a period of development and improved connectivity.
Addressing the third convocation of AIIMS Raipur, he said areas once associated with violence were increasingly being linked with roads, schools, hospitals, investment and development opportunities.
The Vice President attributed the claimed transformation to political leadership, security policy and development-oriented governance and described AIIMS Raipur as a symbol of wider change.
AIIMS Raipur was established in 2012 to address regional gaps in healthcare, medical education and research and serves rural and tribal populations in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states.
The assertion that the extremist threat has ended is a political assessment and should be evaluated against independent incident data, residual armed capability, civilian security, governance access and the durability of public services in previously affected districts.
