The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee has called for stronger infrastructure, logistics and institutional attention for communities and security forces in the strategically important Taksing sector of Upper Subansiri district.
State Congress president Bosiram Siram made the appeal after a four-day visit with party leaders and panchayat representatives, during which the delegation interacted with residents and security personnel.
Siram urged the Union government to facilitate an all-party parliamentary delegation to Taksing and other frontier locations so elected representatives can directly assess local conditions and security-support requirements.
He sought uninterrupted supplies, equipment, communications, accommodation, medical support and adequate manpower for personnel serving in difficult border areas. He also proposed an Arunachal Regiment with substantial recruitment of indigenous tribal youth.
The proposals combine defence logistics with frontier-community welfare. Any policy response should distinguish operational military requirements from civilian development, while addressing road and telecom redundancy, healthcare access, winter stocking, emergency evacuation and local employment without exposing sensitive deployment information.
