A relative of a 19-year-old youth who died along with his parents after a sequence of falls from a hill in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district has rejected reports that a dispute over a mobile phone triggered the tragedy.
The incident occurred in the Tisgaon area on August 21. Police said a domestic dispute preceded the deaths and that the family was under stress, prima facie prompting the youth, identified as Kunal, to attempt suicide.
The youth’s aunt described the mobile-phone explanation as a rumour and said people circulating the claim did not know what had happened within the family.
