Global hospitality company Hilton has announced the signing of a 145-room DoubleTree by Hilton property in Rajkot, Gujarat. The hotel is being developed in partnership with Sanjayraj and Company and is expected to commence operations in early 2030.
Once operational, the property will become Hilton’s fourth hotel in Gujarat. The company currently operates DoubleTree by Hilton Ahmedabad, Hilton Garden Inn Surat City Centre and Hampton by Hilton Vadodara Alkapuri in the state.
The proposed hotel represents Hilton’s expansion beyond Gujarat’s established metropolitan markets into Rajkot, an important commercial and industrial centre in the Saurashtra region. The city’s growing manufacturing base, expanding business activity and improving connectivity are contributing to demand for internationally branded accommodation.
Hilton’s Senior Vice-President and Regional Head for South Asia, Zubin Saxena, said the signing would strengthen the company’s presence in Gujarat and reflected the increasing demand for internationally branded, full-service hotels in emerging commercial centres.
The development is expected to cater primarily to corporate travellers, business delegations, tourists and guests attending social events. Its scheduled opening in 2030 also indicates a long-term assessment of Rajkot’s hospitality demand and economic growth prospects.
The project could contribute to local employment and support associated sectors such as food services, transport, tourism, facility management and hospitality training. Its commercial performance will, however, depend on the pace of regional business growth, aviation connectivity and future room supply within Rajkot.
